The Perks of Using a Disney Vacation Planner

The lines for everything were hours long! All of the restaurants were booked–we couldn’t get in anywhere! We could barely see the fireworks from where we were standing! I had no idea we could eat breakfast with the princesses! The kids were exhausted being in the parks from morning until night! This trip cost us a fortune! Nothing upsets me more than hearing that someone had a terrible time in Disney World.  It’s supposed to be (and can be!) the {Read More}

A Peek into Saving Mr. Banks

Walt Disney Pictures released the first trailer yesterday for it’s upcoming film, “Saving Mr. Banks” (to premiere December, 2013) which tells the fascinating story of how Walt Disney (Tom Hanks) obtained the rights to “Mary Poppins” from the books’ irascible author P.L. Travers (Emma Thompson).  Mary Poppins, the magical film as well as the books upon which the film was based, has been the favorite in our home for years and the release of “Saving Mr. Banks” has our family {Read More}

Changes to Disney’s GAC Program

The Mom-Work Balancing Act

I’ve been thinking for a long time about what I call “feathering my empty nest” even though with three girls ages 11, 9, & 7 my nest is far from empty.  Still, it will be empty in the not-so-far-off future and I don’t want to be shucking and jiving professionally when that day comes. I’m a teacher by trade, with a Master’s degree in secondary education from NYU, and I taught in the New York City public school system for {Read More}
