Walt Disney World in March

disneymarch

The March crowd calendar has a distinctly reggae-feel to it, right?  In any case, that first green week, continuing from the low crowds during the last week in February, make this a really nice time to visit.  Pricing this week remains at Regular Season but goes up to Peak Season as the crowds start to increase on March 7th.  March starts to see temperatures rising as well, with highs in the upper 70s.

Crowd Levels & Special Events

For the first week of March, crowd levels are going to be comfortably low and as I’ve said, that last week in February and first week in March are great times for a Disney World vacation.  Mardi Gras falls on March 4th this year and while you’ll see groups of folks sporting their purple, gold and green, the holiday won’t noticeably increase crowds.  As spring break season approaches, however, we see crowd levels rise throughout the month, getting into that red zone near month’s end.  Crowd levels will remain moderate to high though April when they peak during Easter week.

Weather

Disney World in March tends to be beautiful, with an average high of 78° and an average low of 54°.  While daytime temperatures are on the rise in March, this kind of weather still makes for ideal theme park touring.  Dressing in layers continues to be a good idea as mornings and evenings in the 50s still feel pretty chilly.  With average rainfall around 4-inches, March is still one of the drier months of the year at Disney World.

Resort Pricing

Disney Resort pricing is based on multiple “seasons” throughout the year ranging from Value 1 (which is the least expensive) to Holiday (which is the most expensive).  In between the two are Value 2, Fall Season, Regular Season, Summer Season, and Peak Season.  Thrown into the mix are various holiday, weekend and special event rates which range from Regular Season to Holiday Season Pricing.

  • March 1 – 6  Regular Season ($$$)
  • March 7 – 31 Peak Season ($$$$$ – $$$$$+)
