Walt Disney World in February

disneyfebruary

February can be a fantastic month to visit the Walt Disney World Resort.  Aside from the President’s Week hullaballoo, (resort prices rise to Peak Season that week), crowds are low and resort pricing is at either Value or Regular Season.  Weather in February is similar to that in January and while we do see occasional 80-degree days, dressing in layers is still a must for the cooler mornings and evenings when the average lows are around 50°.

Crowd Levels & Special Events

For the first two weeks, through Valentines and the President’s Day holiday weekend, crowd levels are nice and low.  Crowds pick up toward the end of the second week as we approach the long President’s Day weekend.  Many northeastern schools are closed for a mid-winter break that week and Disney World is a popular destination.   Additionally, the Princess Half Marathon Weekend is scheduled at the end of the holiday week with events taking place throughout Disney property between the 20th and 23rd.  Even with all of the people arriving for the race, the parks won’t feel more crowded than they already do.  Crowds dwindle again by the end of that week and late February and early March are great times to visit.

Weather

February in Disney World remains on the cooler side, with an average high of 73° and an average low of 50°.  These temperatures make for ideal theme park touring, yet as in January, I suggest that people traveling during February dress in layers as the mornings tend to be cool to cold and long-sleeves and a jacket or sweatshirt over a t-shirt is a good way to go.  It’s also a smart idea to bring along jeans and a sweater for your February Disney trip as temps drop down again as the sun sets.  Precipitation levels remain low in February as well.

Resort Pricing

Disney Resort pricing is based on multiple “seasons” throughout the year ranging from Value 1 (which is the least expensive) to Holiday (which is the most expensive).  In between the two are Value 2, Fall Season, Regular Season, Summer Season, and Peak Season.  Thrown into the mix are various holiday, weekend and special event rates which range from Regular Season to Holiday Season Pricing.

  • February 1 – 12 Value 1 ($)
  • February 13  Peak  ($$$$$)
  • February 14 – 16 President’s Day Weekend ($$$$$+)
  • February 17 – 22  Peak ($$$$$)
  • February 23 – 28 Regular ($$$)
