Showing our Disney Side-a Musical Review

DisneyClassicsBoxCoverserver

This past September, Disney launched a new campaign called, “Show Your Disney Side,” which encourages people to bust out the magic of Disney each and every day.  If you take a look at the motto of this site, Seeking and Sharing the Magic of the Mouse Everyday, you’ll see that this is what we’re all about here!

On November 12th, Disney Music and Walt Disney Records will be releasing a brand new cd box-set titled Disney Classics featuring 94 magical musical numbers from Disney movies and television, as well as some of those we hear around the Disney parks.  The compilation covers over 85-years of Disney music and is available to pre-order RIGHT NOW on Amazon.  The set also became available in the Disney Parks on October 22nd.  And as a special bonus for box set purchasers, a new medley of Disney hits by YouTube a capella sensations Peter Hollens and Alex G. Peter and Alex is available for download. Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post from One2One Network and Walt Disney Records.  I received a copy of Disney Classics to review free of charge.  All opinions in this post are my very own. In honor of the release of Disney Classics, my family and I decided to make a video showing everyone our favorite way of showing our Disney Side–through music.  Watch and enjoy!

As I said in the video, the great news is that I’m hosting a giveaway with this fantastic box set.  Do you want to win a copy of Disney Classics for your family?  Enter right here!  Just leave a comment below telling me what you love about Disney music and this fabulous collection can be yours – FREE!  This giveaway ends on Halloween night when the clock strikes twelve, so don’t delay.

Love the video by the way. Great job Vercesi family.

    • Thanks, Debbie! The girls have been playing ours non-stop. I spend my runs with the Splash Mountain music playing in my head!

  2. I love Disney music because it’s so cheerful!

  3. What a fantastic give-away Gina! Listening to Disney music from home takes me right back to the magic and instantly cheers me up. There’s nothing quite like those Disney classics that we all know and love to brighten a mood!

  4. Lesa Thompson says:

I would love to win this! My new granddaughter hasn’t had her first trip to WDW yet, so I would give these to her for Christmas to help her get to know my favorite place!

    • These songs are a great introduction to Disney on all levels, Lesa–my middle daughter was memorizing the words to one of the songs from the old Parent Trap movie last night. The set has SO many songs on it! And I’d love to help you plan your granddaughter’s first Disney trip when you’re ready!

  5. Disney music is the best! It automatically gets you in a happy and festive mood. We like to play it in anticipation for an upcoming trip, before movie night, holidays or basically any day of the week! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  6. Beth Elliott says:

Awesome give-away! I can’t think of a quicker way to transport me right back to my “happy place” than a dose of Disney music. Good luck to all!

  7. I love Disney music because it is something that our entire family can listen to and enjoy!! Disney music always brings a smile to my face!

  8. Disney music sets the mood and I just can’t help but sing along. When I was in choir in school we sang, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pochahontas, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. My very first Disney trip was with my Choir (Magic music days) in Disneyland.

  9. Sigris Lopez says:

What I love about Disney Music … hmmm. I would say it’s some of the only music that can instantly bring a smile to your face. When I’m stressed out I can just put it on and it brings back memories of all my favorite films and my favorite times in the parks. Thanks for this awesome giveaway :) My fingers are crossed

  10. Disney music is pure magic. That’s why we love it.

  11. I have always loved Disney Music, my family used to sit and watch the Disney Movie every Sunday night. And now we do the same with our kids, except we have to put in a DVD. lol The music is just fun and tells a story!

  12. I’m not sure if it’s because it reminds me of being a kid (which I still am, in many ways), or if it’s just because of the happy, carefree feeling I get when I listen to it… but I am definitely a fan of Disney music! My daughter and I have almost worn out the collection of various Disney tracks we currently own… would love to win this set! :)

    Thanks for the great giveaway!

  13. I love Disney music because it always puts you in a great mood! Whenever I’m having a bad day, I put on one of my Disney soundtracks and I feel much better!

  14. Love this!! I love Disney music because its fun for the kids and I to sing along to in the car. I will admit I have on occasion forgotten the kids are no longer in the car and keep belting out the tunes all by myself!!

  15. Kimberly Kihega says:

I always watched Disney movies as a child, and had many of the cds too! I still love them today, and my daughter is starting to enjoy all the princess songs now.

  16. Ashman’s songs

  17. I grew up watching Disney movies, and the music behind these storylines were so powerful, so engaging, that today, I still sing along to them.

  18. fyi– YOU. ARE. ADORABLE!!!

    The songs just transport you!

  19. Gina you and your family are just TOO CUTE and funny! Love reading your posts – fingers crossed for Disney! eek!

  20. Great post! I love Disney and especially reliving Disney moments with my son because it brings back so many memories! It’s like reliving my childhood again!

  21. I grew up in Southern California and going to Disneyland was one of my favorite things to do. Now that I have kids I love sharing the magic with them, it is just a little bit harder because the theme park is not in our backyard. So, I incorporate tons of Disney songs into our daily song singing. H’s current favorite is It’s a Small World, I bought him the book and CD for his birthday and he is now correcting me on the lyrics. Did you know the song is 14min long, and he insists on listening to it right before bed :) it is the best bedtime stall for him right now.

    • Oh my gosh, Kristin–I’ll have to look at the CD. I had NO idea Small World was 14-minutes. The attraction is a long one. The Splash Mountain track is very long and I feel like most of it you don’t hear when you’re riding. I’ve been wondering if they record the attraction music in its entirety and then splice the pieces together when arranging it for the attraction itself. Just one more incredible part of a Disney imagineer’s job, I suppose!

  22. My earliest childhood memories are my Dad taking my sister and I to see disney movies – Lady and the Tramp was a family favorite and when my daughter came home from college one weekend we went to see Beauty and the Beast – My granddaughters are following in our shoes and love the Disney music as much as my daughter and I do – its a wonderful thing to share with them – from a spoonful of sugar to tales old as time to la la lu – they all bring back lovely family memories and I’m sure they will be treasured and loved by future generations of our familiy

  23. Love your musical tribute! What a great box set. Disney music just makes me happy… and well FEEL. Reminds me of watching TV and movies with the family growing up and sharing with my princess. Thanks for this awesome giveaway!

  24. It makes my son happy to hear cheerful songs!

  25. Heather D. says:

I love Disney music because some of my favorite moments involve Disney films. I had an incredible day seeing Fantasia during a group outing and one of my favorite childhood movies was Mary Poppins. I wanted to fly with my umbrella just like Mary Poppins.

  26. I have been going to Disney World at least once a year since I was 3 mos old. I am now 35! We came back from our Labor Day visit and sang the dreams come true song the entire trip. Even my husband got in on the fun!

  27. I’ve pretty much grown up in a disney-loving environment therefore it always brings back good memories whenever i see something disney related.

  28. Thanks to everyone for all of your fantastic comments! I’m going to be drawing the winner this morning. Good luck to everyone! °o°
